Club Pilates offers a variety of Pilates classes including low-impact, mat, reformer, and advanced Pilates. The class is designed for more experienced students who have a good knowledge of Pilates exercises and want a new challenge in their workouts. These classes involve faster movement through positions with increased control on the part of the instructor.

The class is open to everyone, but more experienced students will get the most out of this class. In the advanced Pilates course, you’ll build on your knowledge from earlier courses and work towards mastering some classic Pilates exercises. Increased reps are introduced along with tempo changes, breathing techniques, and advanced Pilates equipment such as the chair and ladder barrel.

This course builds lean muscle, increases flexibility, and improves core strength. Our classes are unlike any others. At Club Pilates, we combine a unique range of exercises and equipment to allow our members to develop and maintain outstanding core strength at any experience level. Our highly trained and certified teachers will guide you through various programs to ensure you get the maximum benefit from every class.

Level 1 Foundation

Ideal for beginners who want a safe and effective class experience to build a solid Pilates foundation. Focus on form and alignment to help you master Pilates fundamentals, so you can get the most out of your workout as you advance. This class is ideal for all fitness levels, is easily modified for those with physical limitations, and focuses on overall body awareness.

Level 1.5 Progression

Continue to build your practice with more complex movements and use of equipment. Start exploring more precise and dynamic exercises. Class tempo is moderate and focuses on a steady class flow. Intermediate exercises and coordinated movements are introduced, along with progressions and balance and stability challenges to give you a more demanding workout. *Club Pilates Level 1 FOUNDATIONS experience required.

Level 2 Evolution

An inspiring and uplifting class that will fully challenge the body and mind. This moderate to fast paced class incorporates quick transitions and will introduce you to more advanced exercises and use of the apparatus. Focused on strength, in addition to balance and stability, this class creates dynamic challenges to elevate your practice. *Club Pilates Level 1.5 PROGRESSION experience required.

Level 2.5 Mastery

Our most advanced class level challenges precision and coordination and is perfect for those who have mastered form and alignment. These advanced Pilates movements are best achieved with a deep mind-body connection created from your experience in the proceeding foundational class levels. *Requires at least 3 months experience in Club Pilates Level 2 EVOLUTION, or prior instructor approval. Not recommended for those with physical limitations.

A Mat Pilates Workout

The mat was one of the first tools Joseph Pilates included in his fitness programme when he developed Pilates after World War I. Though more of a support and protective measure during Pilates exercises, the mat is crucial to ensuring your workout is successful and that you don’t hurt yourself during your session.

Mat Pilates class exercises is what most Pilates for beginners classes begin with. Unlike the reformer or TRX exercises, the mat workout doesn’t require any additional equipment or apparatuses. However, this doesn’t mean that mat Pilates exercises are easy – many people who try Pilates for the first time on a mat still have to learn and adapt to the techniques used during Pilates exercises.

The reformer is a type of Pilates exercise apparatus that can arguably provide a more intense workout than mat Pilates exercises. It is a bed-like frame with a flat platform, called the carriage, on top which rolls backward and forward on wheels. There is also a footbar at the end of the reformer which is adjustable and holds springs. At the top of the frame, opposite the footbar, there are also some straps with handles that you can place your feet or hands into, depending on the exercise.

The reformer is a highly customisable piece of equipment that makes it possible for people of almost any body type to use it to exercise. It’s a great choice for those looking to improve their core stability and achieve good postural alignment. It’s also perfect for toning up, rehabilitating your body after an injury, or getting a thorough, full-body workout.
